The body has the inborn ability to function optimally. However, structure equals function. A car with a flat tire, for example, does not perform as well as a car having all four tires with the proper amount of air. Beyond balancing and aligning your tires, the human body also functions better with proper balance and alignment. A subluxation is a condition of the vertebrae where a misalignment is present. Chiropractors correct subluxations and restore balance. Chiropractically, health is the natural result of the body living in perfect alignment. (See diagram.)
"Above all, do no harm." This phrase expresses one of the principal precepts taught to all medical students. Consider the following: Things that support your optimal functionality and performance have no adverse side effects. Toxic substances, on the other hand, come with a plethora of adverse side effects. When thinking about enjoying better functionality and performance, think about chiropractic.
Is your body in proper alignment? Is your body holding onto too much stress? Look closely...
Stress causes the release of adrenalin. A chronically stressed body, therefore, releases an excessive amount of adrenalin. Medical professionals treat many patients who have conditions that relate to a high release of adrenalin include headaches, anxiety, and depression. Do chiropractors treat those conditions? I don't. I address the spine and nervous system. The body does what the body does in support of great health.
Stress also causes blood sugar levels to increase. How common is high levels of blood sugar? Medical professionals treat an alarming high number of patients who have diabetes. I don't. I do not treat anything. I focus on facilitating connections in your body. The body then does what the body does in support of great health.
Stress also causes blood pressure to rise. How prevalent is hypertension? Medical professionals treat a plethora of patients who suffer with hypertension. Do chiropractors treat hypertension? I don't. I focus on the removal of interference within the body and how removing interference enhances a body's performance. The body then does what the body does naturally in support of great health.
When a body stores stress to the point it continually releases an excess amount of adrenalin and elevates both blood sugar levels and blood pressure, muscles become tense. Medical professionals treat many patients who have a host of other musculoskeletal conditions including but not limited to fibromyalgia, neck pain, back pain, etc . Do chiropractors treat musculoskeletal conditions? I don't. I adjust the spine using very gentle methods. The body then does what the body does. And what the body does is impressive!
A body holding stress shows a decrease in immune function. Medical professionals treat many patients who have a host of arthritic and auto-immune conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, and AIDS. Do chiropractors treat AIDS or any form of arthritis? I don't. I work to release the vitalistic properties of the body through the adjustment. The body then does what it does. Greater health comes naturally.
A stressed body slows digestion. Medical professionals treat many patients who have a host of digestive disorders. They include Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Chron's Disease, Constipation, Indigestion, and more. Do chiropractors treat digestive disorders? I don't. I offer an adjustment. The body then does what it does.
A body locked in stress shows a decrease in sexual function. Medical professionals are increasingly treating patients who believe they are suffering from some form of sexual dysfunction. Look at the increasing popularity of ED drugs like Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra. In addition, impotency and infertility are also on the rise. Do chiropractors treat fertility problems? I don't. I release the interference that compromises function and performance. The body then does what the body does. What happens next is natural.
Why does the body get stressed? When danger is present, the body has a fight or flight mechanism. This mechanism allows us to combat or run from danger. That is why there is a release of adrenalin and an increase in blood sugar and blood pressure. It is why our muscles get tense and why our immune, digestive, and sexual functions shut down. Those functions use up a lot of energy. The body shuts down our immune, digestive, and sexual functions because they are not necessary for handling dangerous situations. The energy is needed elsewhere.
Why does the body store stress? When the spine is misaligned because of interference, stress does not process properly through the body. As a result, the body does not recover fully. Stress is then held in the body. A misalignment is stress to the body. A body storing stress is held a "stress posture" which sadly brings about even more stress, the type of stress that sabotages the expression of great health.
As a chiropractor, I make no claims about the power of the chiropractic adjustment. Quite simply, the body does what the body does. All I can do is serve the Roswell community with chiropractic knowing that once the body is in proper alignment, optimal function is realized. After that, more I cannot say. Keep in mind, however, that tens of thousands of people throughout the world are extremely satisfied with the benefits from chiropractic. You want results? Why is chiropractic so popular, even during economic challenges? The answer is satisfying. Satisfaction!!! It comes naturally when the body is in proper alignment.
